About the Event
Regarding Cancer is excited to announce our 8th annual 20 Colors/ 20 Bikes VIRTUAL Cycling Event scheduled for Saturday, February 6th, 2021 from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The global pandemic has created challenges that make living with cancer even more difficult for cancer patients and their caregivers. While we are saddened that we cannot gather in person with you, the safety of cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and participants is our main priority. Now more than ever, we need your support to continue to serve the over 10,000 Central Texans being diagnosed each year, including those that are uninsured and underserved.
Fundamentally, Regarding Cancer works to make sure that those living with cancer do not have to face their illness alone. To achieve this goal, Regarding Cancer provides psychosocial support and resources to those with cancer and their caregivers by matching newly diagnosed patients with a peer survivor of the same cancer or caregivers of cancer patients. Regarding Cancer’s innovative program has trained over 265 cancer survivors and caregivers to provide coping skills that enable those with cancer to regain a sense of control, reduce isolation, and restore hope. Trained volunteers also visit with patients and their caregivers at 18 Central Texas oncology infusion centers and hospitals to offer comfort, support and information about community resources.
During our 20 Colors/ 20 Bikes event, individuals will fundraise, join an online spin class throughout the day, ride in their neighborhood or on a stationary bike in honor of or in memory of someone special in their lives touched by cancer. An exciting raffle and silent auction will be set up online to entice our supporters!
