About the Event
REGARDING CANCER is excited to announce our first annual STAND UP FOR CANCER COMEDY EVENT scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 2022. This event will take place at Fallout Theater, beginning with a music, Tito’s cocktail and bites reception as well as silent auction full of great local goodies! An incredible line-up of notable local comedians will be performing stand-up comedy sets with all proceeds supporting our programs that bring hope and support to cancer patients and their caregivers.
MEET THE COMEDIANS!
DONNA LEE - Donna has worked with a lot of her favorite comedians including JoKoy, DL Hughley, Bill Engvall and Carlos Mencia. Many moons ago, Donna Lee was a Finalist on “Nick at Nite’s Search for the Funniest Mom in America 2” with Katy Segall as the “House Mom” and special show guests including Jeff Ross, Tim Meadows, Mario Cantone and many more. Donna Lee has traveled around the country to lots of comedy clubs to discuss her dysfunctional upbringing because she cannot afford therapy.
NANCY REED - Nancy is a talented standup comedian covering everything from politics to the wonders of herbal medicine. In 1994, Nancy won the coveted Funniest Person in Austin award. Her relaxed, conversational style is balanced with a consice wit and memorable turn of phrase.
JOE STAATS - Joe has been performing since MySpace was cool. He is a struggling comic and real estate agent but a very well-educated and witty Uber driver.
JEN HILL - With 3 different wedding rings (now defunct) and a successful career as a recruiter, Jen has proven her closing skills are beyond expert level. Single again, when not flapping around her lonely emptynest, she likes to - well, let's face it, all she does is flap about her lonely empty nest. Occasionally she writes jokes and performs them for her Dad. She is excited for the opportunity to share those with a non-blood-related audience.
