Stand Up To Cancer

REGARDING CANCERis excited to announce our 2nd annual STAND UP FOR CANCER COMEDY EVENT scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, 2023. All proceeds from the event will ensure continued access to critical support programs for those battling cancer.

Did you know that cancer is the leading cause of death in Central Texas? Did you know 1 out of 2 men and 1 out of 3 women will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime?

Regarding Cancer works to make sure that those living with cancer do not have to face their illness alone. To achieve this goal, Regarding Cancer provides psychosocial support and resources to those with cancer and their caregivers by matching newly diagnosed patients with a peer survivor of the same cancer or caregivers of cancer patients. Regarding Cancer has trained over 375 survivors and caregivers representing over 50 types of cancer and has matched 408 patients and caregivers with peers impacted by the same cancer toprovide coping skills that enable those we match to regain a sense of control, reduce isolation, and restore hope.

This event will take place at Austin Film Society Cinema, beginning with a music, Tito’s cocktail and heavy bites reception as well as a silent auction full of great local goodies! An incredible line-up of notable local comedians will be performing stand-up comedy sets with all proceeds supporting our programs that bring hope and support to cancer patients and their caregivers.
